This book features Steve and a sample of his Minecraft experiences. While looking out his window, Steve notices that most of his village friends have disappeared. He notices an island in the distance that he hadn't seen before so he decides to investigate. He packs his inventory, puts on his diamond armor, and jumps across the sea. To his surprise, Steve discovers an army of skeletons on the beach. He promptly shoots them with his bow and arrows. Steven uses some of his magic potions in the battle before coming upon a hill made of lava, which he promptly climbs, again using his magic potions. Here he uncovers a tribe of withering skeletons. How will he escape?The tale will be appreciated by true Minecraft enthusiasts. There are some humor and lots of Minecraft lore. Large text and a rather short plot make the book appropriate for beginning readers. Recommended for Minecraft fans.

Well written with some humour.
Great book for boys who play Minecraft. It is written in an easy to read style but high interest. My dyslexic students aged from 7 to 12 all loved it.
IT IS ABOUT HOW STEVE HAS AN ADVENTURE AND IT WAS THE MOST POPULAR BOOK IN MY CLASS AND I GOT IN TROUBLE FOR READING IT BECAUSE EVERYBODY ELSE KEEPS SURROUNDING ME PUSH EACH OTHER AND SCREAMING JUST TO SEE THE BOOK MY BROTHERS ARE UPSESED WITH IT AND I HAD TO FORCE MY MOM IN TO GET IT BECAUSE I MEAN REAL EVERYONE HAS IT IN MY CLASS AND I FELT EMBARRASSED ABOUT IT BECAUSE I WAS THE ONLY ONE WHO DIDN'T HAVE IT TRUST ME PARENT THIS IS HOW TO MAKE YOUR CHILD READ
I'm a teacher and bought this to use with a group of 9/10 year old boys that find reading boring/difficult.
They loved it!
We couldn't afford to get the fully illustrated edition (classroom budgets!) but this actually has a few black and white pictures in which was a nice surprise. The story is simple enough to follow and the large print was good for the group (3 students) to all read together. I'll definitely get a few more to make up a class set of 5 or 6 and share them around the school.
Strongly recommended for reluctant readers who are into Minecraft.
Awesome Book my son loves. It's the perfect reading level for him and he loves that it's Minecraft.
Also, the enlarged print is great because he has visual issues and that helps him so tremendously.
My 1st grader has been so reluctant to try reading to himself. Last night he picked up this book and read to Chapter 3 ALONE! It was amazing -- he had the biggest smile on his face and wanted to share with me everything he was reading (so I know he really was reading!!!!) He brought the book to bed and as I was walking out of his room he was reading by flashlight. Thank you for writing something that is easier for the little ones - he is so excited to read all the books and we will be purchasing ALL of H.L. Readers books!!!!
I wish there were actual words to tell how much I love this book. I can not speak to the plot of the book except to say that my son loves it so far. My son has visual issues and he has learning disabilities. He is a 4th grader but he reads at a much lower level. This book is a hi/lo book. If you are not familiar with that term it is a book that is of high interest to students but is written at a lower reading level. It is hard to find those books at this level. My son alway chooses books that look cool to him but he can't read himself or books he can read that don't look interesting to him and will get him made fun of. This book solves those problems in every way.
This book is also written in a larger font that is amazingly perfect for his visual issues.
This is truly the first book that my boy has EVER been excited about.
Please, please don't change a thing about these books and PLEASE keep making them. I wish you could have seen my son's face light up when he discovered that he could actually read this "cool" book. I have been waiting his whole life for a book to do that.
Admittedly when I first saw these books I thought the price was a bit too high. Now that I have seen them I can say without a doubt that if you will keep making them, I will keep buying them!!!!
