I loved this book! I love this series! And really I want friends like the Morrisons and Fairchilds! As always Ms. Bybee has written a wonderfully fun book. Dakota and Walt have amazing chemistry and it was too fun watching them fall in love. I want to be friends with Dakota, she’s fun, funny, snarky but with such a big heart. She reaches out and gives of herself…like I said I want to be her friend. Then there is Walt, man he’s sexier than I would have guessed when we first met him in Not Quite Enough. Of course he has his issues but they’re not always what you would expect, and yeah he messes up (big time!) but that’s what people do right, panic and make mistakes. One of the things I loved about him was his willingness to own it and apologize and do everything in his power to make it right.

I love how Ms. Bybee takes traditional romance tropes and twists them a little to make them really original (Not Quite Mine, an earlier book in the series, is one of the absolute best “secret baby” romances I’ve ever read) and this book is no different. I love how everything comes together in this book and we get a little peek at who in the group might be next to fall (yay another Fairchild, more pilots for me!) Like I said I loved it and I can’t recommend this book (which can stand alone) and this series highly enough. Catherine Bybee is one of a very few authors on my auto buy list and if you read this book I’m sure you’ll see why. Dakota and Walt are magical. It is so easy to feel all the emotions in this book. Catherine Bybee knows how to suck you in quickly and not want to let go. Her books are all this way. The journey of Dakota and Walt feels so real that I don’t want it to end. The Not Quite series has been fantastic. Now that I have only two left to read, I’m sad because I don’t want to give up any of these characters because I feel like they are family ! Please please write more of this series with all the Morrison’s, Fairchild’s, and of course Dakota and Walt ❤️
I think this is my favorite Catherine Bybee book. And that’s really saying something. I have loved all her books I’ve read and here’s why. Her characters have actual relationships. Attraction? Desire? Absolutely. But they spend the time to get to know each other before a physical relationship and I appreciate that as a reader.

Catherine writes fantastic characters and I loved Walt and Dakota. They were like people I would know in my own life. Walt with his painful background and desire to help others and Dakota with her spunk and talent for writing romances. From their first real date to working together on a life situation they didn’t expect, I loved every moment of their story.

I also appreciate a strong female character who isn’t afraid to support the man in her life. Dakota was absolutely self sufficient and independent, but wanted to be there for Walt when he needed her. And like a grown up, she handled her mother and his with patience and grace. And Walt gave Dakota time and space to accept what was happening between them without being selfish or pushy. Again, they had a relationship. It went beyond the physical. Perfect.

This is what a true romance novel should be and then some. As always, I look forward to Catherine’s next book with anticipation.
It is quite a challenge for me to write a spoiler-free review of "Not Quite Forever" as I love so many aspects of this book and would love to quote the pages and scenes. Ms. Bybee has a very easy to read, fluid style of writing that I find myself swept along in the story. Love the idea of a romance writer and a dedicated doctor in a relationship. Dakota is easily one of my favorite characters; independent, smart, sassy and still has that "Southern" grace and charm. Walt, the ER doctor came across a little serious and stodgy in the previous books and it is great to see his character come alive in this book. I like the realism of medical conditions and information inserted into her book, such as Dakota's (ahem!) condition that required a prescription for antibiotics that made me laugh aloud. The humor in this book is off the charts and I sincerely hope to meet this talented author one day. I have a feeling she is as witty and sassy as her characters in her books. I also like how she captured the dynamics of the relationship of girlfriends; love, camadarie, envy, jealousy. The book may come across light hearted but I credit it to the author's ability to write and tell a great story as the story does have depth and held me captivated to the end. I can easily say this is my favorite of her 4 books in the "Not Quite" series so far and I hope she does not end the series here. I see a story brewing between Mary and Glen...

I liked it. I liked the characters and some of the plot devices. For example how the hero freaks out and starts ignoring her - it felt realistic and I haven’t seen that done well in a lot of books. Also the bactrim effect - bravo! I am tired of books where people who have been having sex for years with multiple partners suddenly fall accidentally pregnant for no reason.
However, the end of the book really dragged for me and I found it hard to finish.
