If the Summer Lasted Forever eBook Shari L Tapscott
This is one of those perfect summer books - a little coming-of-age gem that you can read over and over. There is so much to love about this book. Lacey has sworn off getting involved with the “summer boys” that come to her small resort town; Landon travels the country in an RV with his family and is nursing a bruised heart after a painful breakup. Rather than endure a summer full of parental prodding, Landon and Lacey start a fake relationship. But can it stay fake? Landon and Lacey are adorable and have you rooting for them to drop the “fake” label. Landon’s family is at once charming and hysterically funny (Skittles-puking dog, anyone?) What makes this book so touching to me are the issues that Lacey is dealing with, things like the loss of a parent, heartbreak, insecurity, becoming an adult. She’s a girl that has forgotten how to dream. How Landon woos her and helps her see outside of her self-imposed box is both cheesy and incredibly sweet. Shari Tapscott’s characters and dialogue are wonderful, as always.Tags : Amazon.com: If the Summer Lasted Forever eBook: Shari L. Tapscott: Kindle Store, ebook,Shari L. If the Summer Lasted Forever eBook Shari L Tapscott Reviews
If the Summer Lasted Forever was a super quick and adorable book! By the first chapter I was already smiling and laughing. And while it seemed to move a little slower than I was use to, I happily found myself devouring this book. I was shocked how addicted I became and that I even had tears in my eyes towards the last few chapters. This is the 4th book I've read by Sharri L Tapscott and I can't wait to read the rest of them!
Lacey lived in the middle of nowhere Colorado, and come summertime her tiny little town would become a tourist trap. She worked at the campgrounds and cabins her mom owned, along with her Uncle Mark. Summer boys would always come and go, but after getting her heart stomped on last year, Lacey swore off all boys. Unlike her best friend, Paige, who was the cutest ever and loved the summer boys! But when the Tillman's came to stay the summer at Lacey's family's campground, their oldest son Landon caught her eye.
I heart Landon! He was charming, adorable and made me constantly smile. He would say and do the cutest things ever and while Lacey tried to keep her distance from him, it was impossible. I also loved Lacey too. She was easy to talk to, such a hard worker and had the hugest heart ever. It was easy to see why Landon was pulled in by her. And every time they were around each other they caught themselves flirting. It all felt like first love, it was so cute, a little bit awkward, entirely innocent and I loved every minute of it!
But each of them had their guard up. Lacey didn't want to get attached because she knew he would just be leaving in a few months. And Landon had his reasons for not jumping into a relationship with Lacey. But both of their mom's kept pushing for them to be together. Now here's the funny thing. I completely forgot this was a fake boyfriend/girlfriend book. When it finally happened I had the hugest grin ever. Finally they wouldn't have an excuse to not be around each other. And that could only lead to touching and kissing, sigh. I was beyond ecstatic and loved how this story evolved! What started out innocently, turned into something where the lines blurred. Yes they were pretending to be together, but it felt real at times. And my heart was oh so happy!
So if you're looking for a quick, adorable book with the fake boyfriend/girlfriend trope then definitely give this one a chance! I loved how it mixed friendship, romance and family relationships together. And I also loved how the secondary characters and even dogs played such an important part of this story. If the Summer Lasted Forever had so much heart and I hope you enjoy this as much as I did!
Love this book!
Shari is one of my favorite authors! I was torn between racing through this book and savoring it. Love the characters and the setting especially since I'm a Coloradan as well. Well done, Shari! My only disagreement is the category-- there is no sex in this clean sweet romance!
I own a majority of the books this author writes. As always Tapscott’s characters are well written and realistic. Reading this book is like listening to a friend tell you a story. You become invested in the characters and the choices that they make. I couldn’t put this book down and like her other books I’m sure it’ll be one that I come back to again and again when I want to visit my friends.
I have been on a contemporary romance kick lately so I was glad to get this one from Tapscott. I enjoyed the setting of this book and I liked that Landon and his family were vloggers but was also glad that the vlogging wasn't really a focal point of the story. Tapscott does really well at creating a great balance in her books of what I want for a great read. The romance was simple and sweet.
I was given a free copy of this book in exchange for my honest review )
This was a sweet romance with believable characters, but I ended the book feeling like the hero got the short end of the stick. Lacey was understandably insecure and hesitant about a new relationship initially, but this was drawn out a little too long, to the point really where her eventual explanation of how she felt to the hero himself took place off screen. The story development overall lacked Tapscott's usual finesse and timing, so all the major plotlines, including those with Lacey's mom and best friend felt rushed and over-simplified. This sounds super critical. I still really enjoyed the easy dialogue, escapist quality and gentle good nature of this book. I just wanted a little more in terms of resolution.
This is a "feel-Good" teenage romance story. Lacey is seventeen and works at the campground her mom owns. Since her heart was broken a year ago by a "summer boy" who cheated on her, she swears she'll never have a summer romance again. Then she meets Landon. Their parents are trying to push them together, so they decide to become fake-boyfriend and fake-girlfriend.
This is a heart-warming story that kept a smile on my face. I love the books Shari Tapscott writes. This book was given to me in exchange for my honest review. This is my honest review.
